![]() ![]() I have seen on a Display Port web page, what looked like an adapter with display port one side and HDMI the other, does this exist as it seems better than the DVI to HDMI approach. I have read that you have to use an adapter then plug that into a cable with DVI on one end and HDMI on the other and then use a "y" cable for the audio plugged into your amp for sound. I don't know if that's since changed on the new models. The maximum resolution I believe your MacBook Pro can do is 2560x1600. If it is greater than 1920x1200 then you need to use a more expensive active Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter. ![]() However, the audio is only passed through if the PC supports HDMI signaling, which I believe the 2009 Macbooks didn't. You don't detail the resolution of the HDMI display, if is is 1920x1200 or less then you can use a standard passive Mini Displayport to HDMI adapter. Easily connect your Apple iMac or MacBook to an external projector or monitor with this Dynex DX-PD94592 Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter, which supports up to 1920 x 1200 resolution for clear visuals. From what I've read it is also known as DP++ and it passes the signal straight through as HDMI with the use of an adapter. I have done some reading on the mini display port and it's computability with HDMI. I am about to buy a 2011 13" Macbook Pro.
